allow me to see newest gmails without clicking refresh button

was working previously but not now
gmail is not auto refreshing which means new gmails not appearing as notifications

android 4.4.2

please allow gmail to automatically arrive

Try going into Gmail>menu>more>settings>send&recieve>set download frequency.

Gives you the option to choose 15 min, 30 min, 1 hour, 2 hour, 4 hour or once a day.

FYI Monlnar,

The tutorial that you have linked is to adjust the sync depth (how many days worth of email will be downloaded and maintained on the device), not the sync rate.

Keep in mind that Gmail utilizes network pushes, so anytime a new email arrives on the server it will automatically attempt to push it to your device.  If your device is in sleep mode or a low power mode where mobile data is not being accessed then you will of course not see the new email until you wake the device and it has a chance to initiate a server sync.
