Why is my javaScript window opening in IE when my default browser is chrome or FF??
Note my default browser has been set to both Fire Fox and Google Chrome  but the window keeps opening in IE.
Any reason why??

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Really?
u0.htm
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html lang="en">
<head>
      <meta charset="utf-8">
      <title>huh</title>

</head>

<body>
<script src="u.js"  language="javascript" type="text/javascript"></script>
</body>
</html>
------------------------------
u.js
var nwin=window.open("u00.htm",null,"width=300px,height=400px");
nwin.moveTo(1,1);
nwin.focus();

What I do not understand is why I always get IE windows and not FF or chrome windows when I set default browser to FF or chrome

I don't know.  I copied your code and ran it in Firefox and the popup opened in Firefox.  Ran it in IE, it opened in IE.  Ran it in Chrome, it opened in Chrome.  But in all 3 cases, I had to 'allow' pop-ups from that page.

odd. I am running window 7 with latest updates and latest firefox and IE and chrome.
perhaps it is a configuration. I just hope Norton Security is not part of the problem.
