Guests on Hyper-V 2012 R2

Hi, I have an environment with two 2008 R2 hosts and one 2012 R2 host.
The 2008 R2 physical host servers need to be replaced,
Can I temporarily move their guests to the Hyper-V 2012 R2?
I have two 2012 R2 hyper-v guests already running on the 2012 R2 host.
They are by no means taxing the server so as far as disk, memory and CPU cores goes I have plenty of capacity.
It is just a matter of, "If I copy over the .vhd, will Hyper-V allow me to create and spin up that guest?"
The long term will be to setup new hosts for these guests but this would be a welcome bit of breathing room until the end solution is in place.

thanks,

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

The answer to this is: Yes, if I copy over the .vhd, Hyper-V does allow me to create and spin up that guest.
