Share Feature in Excel

I experience an erratic problem when I wish to share an Excell file while it is open.  A dialogue box appears saying Excell has stopped working and the program needs to be restarted. Unless one has saved the open file it is lost altogether. i have installed SP1 now as well, but it made no difference.

Steven, can you expand on what you mean by Share the file?

If you are referring to the Sahred Workbook feature in Excel, I would avoid using it as it is notoriously unreliable. There are numerous threads on here regarding that feature and very few, if any, of them are complimentary. Typical faults include corruption and loss of data etc.

in this case its just a question of trying to email the file within excel rather than attaching it afterwards as this is more time consuming...
so nothing fancy, just a stock standard feature...

So you mean you're using the Save & Send option on the File tab?

I have seen issues with this before when the Outlook / Excel profile is not setup correctly but unfortunately I don't know how to check or rectify.

OK, well the funny thing is, this is a brand new laptop with a brand new install of office 2013

anyone have any ideas perhaps?

re-install and SP1 didn't fix anything...

what do you mean with the outlook / excel profile not set up correctly?
i'm not sure i understand you 100%

I believe there is setting in Outlook that recognises when an email is being generated outside of the Outlook interface, ie such as sending directly from Excel.

I recall having to set this profile many moons ago so it may not be required anymore with better collaboration between applications.
