For a few years I have been publishing applications to some staff using the Citrix Enterprise Client via the good old XML service provided by the web interface to Windows 7 and XP workstations, rather than installing them locally.
With Windows 8.1 we have to use the Citrix receiver 4.1 which uses the new storefront.
The problem is there doesn't seem to be a way to get the applications published by the storefront to appear as tiles on the desktop that actually work. When the application is run from the receiver, it uses a desktop viewer and looks ugly.
What are people doing to support publishing of applications to the desktop?
