Hi EE,

Can we run framework 4.0 on windows 2012 sever? According to the cheatsheet from microsoft below, it appears that 4.0 is only compatible upto Windows 2008 R2 version.

You need to install .NET Framework 4.5 and update it. There is no "just" 4.0 for Windows 8 and above and associated servers and above.

From what I have read, V4.5 includes features used by V4. So just install V3.5 and V4.5 in Windows Features (in Programs and Features) and update them. That should work.
