I purchased my Nexus 6 on the Google Play Store and wanted to use the T-Mobile Wifi Calling feature.  I know it works with my plan & SIM card because it had been plugged into a iPhone 6 before but now that's in the Nexus 6, I can't find any option to select the feature or does it just work automatically with no indicators?

As each provider produces their own version of the Android OS for for phones, you may find that it is only available on T-Mobile purchased phones.

If it is there it is under....

Tap “settings”
Tap “more settings”
Select “Wi-Fi Calling”

I had a bad feeling that would be the answer and sure enough, I don't have the feature on my pure Google stock version.  Seems to me Google should have included the feature and let the carriers lock/unlock it as they do for tethering.   Would there be a workaround - perhaps flashing an available T-Mobile ROM version of Android L?

Best i could find as a quote was this....

"As we reported earlier, the Nexus 6 is all set to hit every major U.S. carrier when it launches later this fall. It's important, then, that carriers do what they can to set themselves apart from the pack. T-Mobile is doing just that today, and has announced that the Nexus 6 will support Wi-Fi calling on T-Mobile via an over-the-air update available in early 2015"
