Facetime for Windows PC

Downloaded what was supposed to be FaceTime for PC (Windows). It does not install; claiming I need something called "Blue...".
I get the impression "Facetime for Windows" is not available.
I would have loved to use Facetime on my laptop, to talk to my daughter.

I use Skype for this. Skype is available on any Windows desktop, Windows 8 Metro, and iPhone as well. This works for me.

If memory serves me, I believe Skype is available for both iOS and for Windows. But I have heard nasty comments made about Skype.
I take it there is no way to run FaceTime for PC (although I have seen info that suggests the contrary).

I use Skype very successfully on my own Windows 8 machine.

There was a version between Skype (prior to the Microsoft purchase a few years ago) and Skype now. Back then, there was a version that ran like a dog and I backpedalled to an earlier version. But for the last 2 or 3 years, Skype has run very well and I have used it in a variety of circumstances. I think it will do what you want.
