can someone please tell me what is office 365 and study notes on it.

Office 365 on a computer is Office 2013. You can find any Office Vxxx for Dummies book and find out all about Office.

Office 365 as a "server" is Exchange run by Microsoft (or someone else). Your client for Office 365 Exchange can be Outlook 2010 or Outlook 2013.

For Office 2013 and a subscription, you can use One Drive and store your documents in the "cloud". I have 200 GB of documents and files and so I said no to that service. It would not help me. But if you have a small number of documents and a fast connection (documents are on a remote server), it could help.

then why i cant keep small docs in pen drive or on my laptop....

is Microsoft hosting servers as well of their customers in their data centers?

I use my laptop to store files. You can use a flash drive if you wish. There are many ways to do this. Your questions are very broad I'm scope and no one answer to suit. You need to know what you want.

finally just in last tell me is MS providing hosting services, to its client on windows or sql point of view or they are just in mood of capturing exchange market.

Microsoft competes against Hosted Exchange. I have clients with Exchange 365 and clients with Host Exchange. Take your pick. I have clients with Hosted SharePoint for documents. Others do it internally. There is no one way.
