Visual Studio

Hi Experts,

I have noticed that for some SQL DB servers, Visual studio installation date is showing the same date SQL was installed in the server, and for few SQL DB servers, visual studio installation date is showing different, in this case,
i. Could you please assist to know that is Visual Studio is being installed as part of SQL installation?
ii.  Visual studio is separate than SQL installation?
Could you please advise by providing any related link that can give me more understanding.

Hi teebon, thank you for your reply, I can see the followings:

Microsoft Visual studio 2010 professional-Enu, and also Visual Studio Macro tools etc installed with SQL server 2008 in the same date and I can see from control panel for the installation date. In this case, does SQL DB 2008 requires visual studio components or it has been installed separately? Please advise.
Hi ipsec,

Both of the programs you mentioned: Microsoft Visual studio 2010 professional-Enu and  Visual Studio Macro tool are useful to programmers / developers and it is not required if the purpose of your server is just to run SQL Server 2008.
Thank you so much, and apology for the delay feedback.
