Old legitimate emails showing up in Junk Folder

One of our customers called and said 12 emails, from three and four years ago, showed up in her junk email folder.  These are legitimate emails that she had gotten years ago.  The headers indicate they are older emails.  I checked backups for the last few days and they aren't there.  Any ideas as to how to figure out where they came from?

The usual reason for this is a new client has been started somewhere, and Outlook has scanned the email during the caching process, with the result being the messages have been moved.

A new client meaning that particular user has started a new client somewhere? Where would that synching process happen at and from where?  I believe she is using cached exchange mode.

A new Outlook installation, or an existing installation has recreated its OST file. It could also be that Outlook has scanned the folder the messages were in and has quarantined them.

I have four clients accessing my own mailbox and it isn't unusual to get four copies in the junk email folder.
