Sending SSRS reports if a date in the report's result set is in 5 days time

I've got a report I want to send to a recipient dependent on whether the date field in the tablix is five days from today's date. Can I do this via a subscription/data driven subscription in SSRS?

Yes, you can do this with a data driven subscription.
Create a query to retrieve subscriber data that doesn't return any rows when there aren't and dates five days from now. You have to create a query for this similar to the one that is used by the tablix. You can't refer to the tablix in your subscription. Only to an SQL statement. See the documentation to learn how to use data driven subscriptions:
