For several months I have not been able to copy from or paste to gmails I create in Chrome on my Mac. It is a significant enough problem that I've begun to use Safari instead, but (1) I like Chrome, and (2) I need to be able to resolve this issue.

Please help. Running Mac OS 10.10 (Yosemite) and the latest version of Chrome.

Google Chrome Safe Mode
Firefox has an option that lets you temporarily disable themes and extensions, so you can still use your browser even if one of your add-ons is buggy. It's called safe mode and it's "a special Firefox execution mode that can be used to troubleshoot issues in Firefox. In Safe Mode, you can reset some settings or disable add-ons that might be the source of the issue. By comparing Firefox behavior in normal mode to its behavior in Safe Mode with various items disabled, you may be able to diagnose issues."

Google Chrome doesn't have this feature, but you can open an incognito window to temporarily disable extensions.

Davidanders, thank you but don't know what this means for my problem. Are you saying I should open a new incognito window when I need to cut and paste? I'm also inferring that perhaps I should disable any and all add-ons I have?

Thanks.

If there is an add on or extension that causes the problem, an update or removal may solve the problem. Given that Chrome only is affected, testing with a clean Chrome seems reasonable.
