Office 365 Word 2013

Hi

Ok so i have moved to office 365 and installed office 2013 from the portal link but opening word is a real pain. Its so slow im considering going back to office 2010. When i double click a word doc to open its takes up to 2-3 minutes just to open and its really a basic doc. What i noticed was Word saying on its opening slpash screen that it was contacting \\serv or some site.

any ideas?

Thanks

What is your upload speed? Where are the documents stored, on-premise or Office365 SharePoint online? Add the Office365 URLs to the Local Intranet in Internet Explorer.

Also, did you run desktop setup to prepare PCs and Laptops for Office365? Running desktop setup installs all the latest patches/updates for systems to use Office365.

Is it the same if you open Word from the Start menu, and open a document from Word?

it seems to be the splash screen when it opens is trying to contact \\serv\.....\UK templates. opeing word itself is fine its when i goto open a doc it starts to check \\server\cash4w\tempaltes etc etc

maybe there is a way to stop that from happening?

Did you run the desktop setup to install patches/updates for use with Office365? This needs to be done. Please see the link below.
