I need to exclude records that does not have data in a particular field.  The field is not selectable in the report.  I just need to exclude the record if the field is empty.

There are several ways to do that.

You can use the select expert to not bring the records to the report

Not (IsNull({YourField})

If you need the records but just don't want to show them you can suppress the details or the section with
  IsNull({YourField})

Right click the section in the left margin
Click SECTION EXPERT
Click the FORMULA BUTTON to the right of SUPPRESS
Enter the formula
    IsNull({YourField})

If you need to ignore the values of other fields in summaries or other calculations create a formula like below and use it in the calculations instead of the field
If  Not IsNull(YourField}) then
      {FieldForCalculation}

Open in new window

Thanks, got it to work.  I do have one more question.  Is there software available that will allow Crystal to run without the full version of the software.  I have designed the report, and I do not want to give the person running it the ability to make any changes.  They will only need the ability to select parameters, save and/or print.

Yes there are many viewers and scheduling tools available.

Ken Hamady has avery good list and he reviews the ones listed once a year.  SOme are inexpensive and others are a bit pricey.  If you have programming skills it is not too difficult to create a basic report viewing program.
