What is the best method or tool to do aid in migrating from an SQL Server Database to MySQL Database
Hi
We are considering migrating from SQL Server to MySQL we have several large databases which are poorly designed so plan on re designing the MySQL Database/s for better performance and management.
We have done some research on various approaches and tools available to accomplish this but would like to get some experts opinions on how best to accomplish this transfer and also if we should in-fact be changing from 1 database to another instead of sticking with SQL Server and re-designing/building what we have.
More Info -
Database size - several tables now hold over 500,000 records and get added to daily.
Database Structure - Currently have 2 large databases plan on breaking this down into multiple smaller databases which hold data specific to the web site/ application they are connected to.
