asked on

yahoo mail account not accessible...

Hi,

I cannot access to my yahoo account and I dont know what happened... Since friday last week (6 days) I cannot login/ cannot reset password/ cannot do anything...

when I try to login , i do get:

Invalid ID or password.
Please try again using your full Yahoo ID.

then, when I click on "I can't access my account"
it goes to here: https://edit.yahoo.com/forgotroot

after entering captcha, i do get

Your password can’t be reset online.
For security reasons, you need contact Yahoo Customer Care to help you reset your password.

If you used an alias or profile name, we recommend that you try again with the Yahoo ID associated with the alias. If not, you can contact Customer Care to help reset your Yahoo password.

Why do I have to wait?

if I do click "Why do I have to wait?" I see this:

We have locked this option for your protection because we believe someone may have unauthorized access to your account. Contact customer care.

Contact Customer Care

when I do click "Contact Customer Care", I start all over:

it goes to this page: https://io.help.yahoo.com/contact/index?locale=en_US&y=PROD_ACCT&page=contact
asking for options & possible solutions, which I end up with first thing I have above...

I dont see any toll free number (I am in Turkey) or any form to send message to yahoo.. or any chat window...
3 days ago, somehow I saw a form (which I cannot see/access anymore), which I got a reference number... after that form, for 3 days, I did not get any message from yahoo (I gave my alternate email address)...

Do not know what to do... this is an email address that I use for more than 12 years... need help...

Hi HainKurt,

Here is a phone number that has good success in reaching someone at Yahoo - (408) 916-2130.

Others to try in order of success:
800-318-0612, 866-722-9932, 866-562-7219, 866-849-8298

Good luck.

i just created a brand new yahoo email, which I was trying to get for years... i guess it was not available, and suddenly, today I got it... also, I can access to my other yahoo address & use the tools provided online (reset password, forgot id, forgot password etc)

Not sure what happened to my 12 years old account, and still dont know what to do, where to contact... all numbers are busy / useless or just pointing to help.yahoo.com and hangup...

found another page

Try to reset your password first using your alternate address or mobile number.

when I click "mobile number" it asks for phone, then captcha, then it goes back to phone number... infinite loop...

Ok, finally found customer Support @ 1 (800) 730-2669

They said, my account is gone and nothing to do
It is being recycled now, and after recycled, It will be available again like after three months...
But, I can create new yahoo, and add monitoring service to keep an eye of names that I want to get, by paying $$$
Reason, for such stupid thing is "I did not login to yahoo from my laptop" for a long time!
I am using my yahoo email daily, every hour, every 2-3 minutes, it is setup on my outlook & iphone, I am using it all the time, send & receive emails all the time...
But this is not enough apparently, and to keep email address, I SHOULD LOGIN PERIODICALLY FROM LAPTOP/DESKTOP
or, they will delete my account without any notice!
The help desk guy said it is written on "Terms & Conditions" but I could not find anything related to laptop/desktop here

strange thing... after that call, i got an email saying my account is deleted upon user request... mail says, reply to the email if this is not the case... I did, replied, saying i did not request such thing...

will call again... this is getting too messy...

Yahoo Customer Care admitted the mistake, and solved the issue on their back-end...
