If you are talking about a responsive website then take a look at Bootstrap and my article here

Bootstrap has a series of CSS classes that adapt to the screen size the site is being viewed on.

I could be wrong. I don't really want to add additional framework just yet. I am creating internal site for my company. A lot out our users have different desktop screen size. We also us ipad to browse to my page. I am not sure if there is a simpler solution.

Bootstrap is about as simple as it gets, otherwise you will have to start writing all your own media queries and different classes for your elements
Takes a few hours to get the gist of Bootstrap, will likely take you at least a week to write up your own framework
