Hi,
I am trying to set up an email account as follows.
I have added an alias email address to one account.  When email comes through this second email address I would like to set up an auto reply letting the sender know we have received the email and will get back to them.  Is there a way to set up an auto reply for the alias and not the main email address?
Or, will I have to set up a separate email account with the auto reply, then forward that to the main account?
Thanks - Wayne

You can by setting up a rule to apply to that alias address to have the server send an autoreply.  However this is a hokey-pokey method that can be frustrating at times.  It is way easier to just setup an account and have it auto-reply and have the emails forwarded to the user.  You can also setup a distribution group if this email is going to multiple users.  The same guide applies below:

Email Auto-Reply

The link above basically gives you a step by step with screenshots on the rules and settings to allow a distribution group to auto-reply.  Same goes for alias addresses
