We are building a web application that writes log files to a directory on the web server. We were wondering what the best way to restrict access to the folder so that only the web application can write to it and only sftp can access it to download the logs.

We are currently using a plesk 12 server.

Simple way, to restrict access via web, you can create index.php/ index.html file. So it cannot be accessed anymore.
