Locking down chromecast with a password

Locking down chrome cast with a password

is it possible?

Don't want some one hijacking a projection show for a laugh as an example

Currently no, if they have access to your WiFI they have access to the device.  Password control is on the development list but not a priority.  Realistically it's a domestic device designed to increase accessibility not to lock it down.  You'd need to provide control via WiFi access and that could mean a whole separate WiFi network with its own credentials just to cast.

Ah ok. I can see some right messing going on chromecast so

My way around this would be to hook a separate router up wan port to wan port. It's on it's own network then.
