We are about to deploy MS Dynamics 2013 at my company and since we use SCCM 2012, I've been tasked with creating a deployment for either a package or application that we can push which will automaically install all of the prerequisits, install and configure Dynamics GP,Run GP utilities update, copy and replace the debugger.cnk and taUtil.cnk files in Program Files, Install Dynamics Add-in for Microsoft Word, and then copy and replace the Dynamics.SET and Dex.ini files. I'm somewhat new to SCCM so I am wondering if anyone out there has already done this or something  in System Center and could give me some advice on how to go about doing all this. Any help would be much appreciated.

thanks

Hi,

I can't offer any help with SCCM, and haven't heard of anyone using it for GP, but another place to post your question would be the GP Community Forum to see if anyone there might have some info.

https://community.dynamics.com/gp/f/32.aspx

With that said, many Dynamics GP customers have moved to Terminal Servers / Citrix Servers for their GP installs, so workstation installs have decreased dramatically.   There are so many benefits of a server-based GP deployment that I would highly recommend considering it (if you were planning on doing workstation deployments).

If you are looking to use SCCM for server deployments, then that would be the best of both worlds.

Good luck!

Hi,

While searching for something else, I randomly stumbled into this article.

http://blogs.msdn.com/b/developingfordynamicsgp/archive/2014/03/26/installing-microsoft-dynamics-gp-clients-using-system-center-configuration-manager.aspx

Hopefully it has some helpful info.
