XAMPP on Windows Server

Are there any precautions to loading XAMPP onto one of my VM Windows 2008 R1 servers? I need a webserver for an internal website, (Intranet).  All of my servers serve roles on my network and I don't want to mess anything up.   ANY help with this would be appreciated.

 Thank you

For one thing, make sure you have the right VC version installed (VC++ 9)
I do believe XAMP will guide you trough this, but am not sure.

Then, make sure the right ports are open on the firewall, which can be a pain in the ass on server 2008.
Furthermore, the internet is buzzing with forums and guids for the type of project you are about to begin.

And one more thing, personly, I cannot work with the build in ftp server, but make use of cerberus ftp.

 Good luck!
