How to configure SNMP trap on ESxi 5.5 and then to test and generate!!

Can we do this using GUI ?
like configure ,test and generate the trap  to be placed at given location ?

or if we have do using command line ?

You cannot do this in the GUI.

You need to do it at the command line.

you use

esxcli system snmp set

see here

m able to configure this using vma for esxi 5.5

like..

vicfg-snmp -s
vicfg-snmp -t 172.18.16.20[vc]@162 /public
vicfg-snmp -E
vicfg-snmp -T

i can see trap generated..but where to locate that trap file generated ?

can i save that trap generated @my vc's desktop  ?

Normally, you would setup a Administration Server, to record and receive the traps and alerts, that would send them to a database.

If you installed software on your vc's desktop  you could.
