How can I set Outlook 2103 to automatically back up all my Outlook files automatically?

I want to automatically back up all my Outlook 2013 files to an external hard drive.   What is the best way to do this?

Microsoft has a PST Backup tool. You need to exit Outlook first.

I keep Outlook on two machines and I back up my laptop monthly or so by closing Outlook and just copying the PST files.

There are paid alternatives but I have never tried them.
