Hi,

I am writing a web app that is using Filemaker as its DB, my question is, is there a way to test SQL in Filemarker much the same way you can test SQL in MySQL, MS Access etc ...

At the moment I feel like it either works or it doesn't and my methods for debugging the SQL are not great with this method.

What do you mean by "test SQL in MySQL?"
As far as I know, you "test" SQL in MySQL by connecting any generic SQL client to it and seeing if you can pull up your data.  If that's what you mean, yes, you can do that with FileMaker as well.  Sounds like you'll need to go through an ODBC connector, though I'm not exactly sure what you're working with.

What I mean is can I just execute an SQL query in Filemaker and get some output as to weather it succeeds or fails. I just want a way of being able to troubleshoot SQL queries in Filemaker.

ODBC is the answer, if connecting to Filemaker via ODBC SQL errors are returned that can be troubleshooted in the event of an SQL error.
