How do you setup groups in apple mail?

Mail is linked to Address Book for groups and email addresses.  In OSX 10.6.8, (others would be similar) Open Address Book, two buttons are on the left end of upper window bar.  Select "show groups and members" , then the File Pull-down menu lets you create...

New Group
New Group from selection
New Smart Group
etc.

I created a new group called peeps, then select "All Contacts" and hold Command key down while selecting all the addressees that you want in this group.   Or if your selections of addressees are sequential in your contact list, use Shift instead of Command key while selecting. Once your selections are highlighted, drag them into your new group like "peeps".  If Mail is running quit Mail and launch Mail again.  Now select "New Message" and in upper window  bar click the show address book selection and your new group should appear.  Also note the plus signs at the bottom window bar to add groups rather than the pull-down menu.
