Does CSV Extension require VMs to turned off

Hi,

One of my CSV presented to 3 hyper-V nodes of a cluster is out of space. So we are planning to Extend it.
I want your advises just to be sure of, what i am doing is right.

My question is:
1-)Do i need to turn off all VMs residing on that particular CSV before expansion or its possible during VMs online process?

2-)Do i need to turn off Hyper-V hosts for this activity?
3-)What additional things need to consider of for this activity?

Thanks, Hussein

How are you planning on extending the CSV?

We've actively presented and pulled storage to our clusters without any issue.

I suggest that before making any changes to make sure that there is a full and tested backup.

Then go for it.

Once the storage has been extended the partition within the owner node's Disk Management would need to be expanded.

A good How-To on the TechNet Forums.
