Since you know it's a software that's on a server and it doesn't see the underlying interface. However, with Cisco IOS XE Release 3.9S it's capable of doing nic teaming.

vipelite,

Thanks for responding, however I don't know what you mean?

Are you familiar with vPC on Cisco Nexus 7K?

Yes, I work on vPC everyday "Etherchannel" - "Port-Channel" whatever the terms coined from catalyst days. IOS XE is a router and you would like to do something "like vPC" or vPC? is that what you're asking? I believe you can do Layer 3 port-channels on the routers.

Routers

A router is a networking device that forwards data packets between computer networks. Routers perform the "traffic directing" functions on the Internet. The most familiar type of routers are home and small office cable or DSL routers that simply pass data, such as web pages, email, IM, and videos between computers and the Internet. More sophisticated routers, such as enterprise routers, connect large business or ISP networks up to the powerful core routers that forward data at high speed along the optical fiber lines of the Internet backbone. Though routers are typically dedicated hardware devices, use of software-based routers has grown increasingly common.
