In TrendMicro IMSS v7.1 web administration console, when you change the following setting to a lesser quantity...

Logs --> Settings --> Log Files --> Reporting Logs (Stored in Database) --> Number of days to keep logs for query:

When does the actual database purge process kickoff?  As soon as you save the change to the number of days?  Or is it on some 24 hour schedule?  Or something else?

can take a look at this and the effect is not immediate unless you complete another few more steps e.g. running "dblog_janitor" , but do backup first before the purging. see below for different OS

Yep, those were the steps I was following, but after running dblog_janitor there was no change which is why I posted the question on EE.   When I checked this morning it looks like the change finally took effect at 4am.  Not sure if that is the time IMSS actually schedules the cleanup task, or if my system was having other issues which magically resolved at 4am and let the change go through.

noted, likely dependent on running schedule if any to complete before effect, but then if we take an day, the purge should be completed as a whole.
