I am running Hyper-V on a clustered 2012 server environment.  How can I setup an e-mail notification to alert me if one of my Hyper-V machines stop running?  I would like to receive a notification if a virtual machine enters a state other than running such as "paused" or "stopped".

Thank you in advance for your assistance!

You could also setup a powershell scriipt to run periodically (much cheaper than the other options - but you need to be able to script).  I do something similar to monitor replicas.
Virtualization
Virtualization

Virtualization is the act of creating a virtual (rather than actual) version of something, including (but not limited to) a virtual computer hardware platform, operating system (OS), storage device, or computer network resources. Virtualization is usually the creation of a system that executes separate from the underlying hardware resources, or the creation of an entire desktop for systems located elsewhere, similar to thin clients.
