allow external user access to mailbox

One of my clients has been bought and needs for a user in the purchasing company to have access to a resource mailbox in their domain and must be able to send as the resource mailbox.  No trusts have been setup yet and this has to happen asap.  What is the best way to grant access?  My first thought is to enable the resource mailbox and enable it for VPN, then have her create an Outlook profile.  Is there an easier way?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

You must either have a trust build or connect to the client's VPN network to access their resources. If OWA is an option and its enabled over internet then she can open the resource mailbox over OWA but she must have the credentials from client domain.

By default, AD account for room/resource mailbox is disabled. In that case, a separate AD account must be created for her and that account must be given full permissions.
