If you mean by take a template of subsite is to save this site as a template then navigate to Site Settings ->Under “Site Actions”  select “Save Site as Template”.

My solution was based on Team Site Template, and it seams your sub-site template is publishing if yes then you can follow steps described in the bellow link:
