I want to run iOS commands on my Windows workstation to do some troubleshooting things like CDP to know which switch port that I connect to .
I no need to excute commands remotly  on the switch , but locally on my PC
not like hyperterminal or Putty  , i asked too if GNS3 could help me in this issue ?
thanks

You would need to execute these commands, in a Cisco environment, or emulator on your PC.

Yes. you can connect to a switch port and use CDP to discover information without any permission to login the switch.

It's done via SNMP with the CDP Mib.

You could use Wireshark.

You cannot turn a Windows machine into a Cisco Switch!

You can emulate or run some Cisco products in a virtual machine.

If you have a virtual machine, which is a Cisco Switch, you can execute all the Cisco commands you like based on the Cisco architecture.

e.g. Nexus 1000, 1000R Cloud Routers.

If you do not have a virtual machine, Windows cannot execute Cisco IOS commands.

Correct, if they are virtualised you can, they appear the same as a physical device, and different IP Address, using VMware products.
