What can be used to test something deployed as Saas ?

Hi,
I'm going into the world of SAAS and web hosted applications, so excuse the newbie question.
So here is it. For applications, services that are remotely used , e.g. SAAS, what kind of testing tools exist ? Does it depend on the technology used for the deployment of those same services ? And kind of technologies are used for that kind of application ?

Cheers

SaaS is a very general topic.  You would want to load test it or have something like azure that will scale up/and down  the application according to demand.  Each type of SaaS would require its own testing tools dependant upon the platform that it resides on.

Hi David,
with platform do you mean the hosting platform, like Apache or IIS, or something else ?

SaaS doesn't have to reside on a web server (as I said originally it is a very broad item) and the web server may only be the delivery mechanism . All of the parts of the service need to work and each part would have different measurement tools and objectives.

Office 365 is a SAAS, which encompasses Exchange, Share-point, Yammer, Lync and more. It is subscription based. Same with Azure and Amazon S3,  Salesforce also has their product line in SAAS (on demand, scalable)
Youtube is another SaaS item, which as time goes on has added more and more items. i.e. Editing capabilities.
One normally has a service agreement (which is another topic completely)

Thanks David,
I see now that I was confusing the delivery method with the backend implementation of the service. If I undertstand it correctly, then you can have any kind of technology behind, which also means any kind of testing framework.
