How Do I Deploy WSUS & SCCM on Same Server?

Points of My Scenario:
1. I am domain admin of a Windows Server 2008 R2 domain
2. I am required to implement SCCM 2012 for managing software updates
3. I currently uses WSUS for software updates
4. I will deploy a new WSUS along with SCCM 2012 on the same Windows Server 2008 R2 server
5. Some clients are in a DMZ. These currently communicate to WSUS via HTTP only
6. These clients will now need to use HTTP for both (a) getting software updates and (b) for server-to-client communications with the new SCCM 2012 server.

QUESTION: How can I configure the SCCM2012/WSUS server so that both SCCM and WSUS client-to-server communications/transactions ALL happen via HTTP (I.e. TCP port 80)?

I think, you can't configured the WSUS and SCCM2012, but you can use the SCCM 2012 for configured the non -DMZ and DMZ both..  suggest you to kindly go through the SCCM tech article..

Hi akalyan911, are you saying that WSUS and SCCM2012 can not be installed on the same machine?

WSUS and sccm can be installed on the same server.

Will this WSUS be uses independently or as SUP role?

Hi Nagendra Pratap Singh, WSUS will be used as SUP role. SUP, WSUS, and SCCM site server will all be installed on the same server.

What do you advise?

Walt

If your environment is smaller than say, 4000 devices then you can install them on a single server.

With the above environment, one server should be enough for you. You will need some distribution points for content/bandwidth management.

http://prajwaldesai.com/sccm-2012-r2-step-by-step-guide/ should help you there.
