SBS2003 and WSUS 3.2

The WSUS program that originally came with SBS2003 was corrupted. So I uninstalled WSUS and installed the newest version (3.2).. after the reinstall I opened up WSUS and it does show the workstations and server. But none of the Computers and server have reported to WSUS.

Is there something I can do in Group policy on the server to make the Workstations turn to WSUS to grab updates.

ok I ran both commands. is there anything I have to do after?

I went into wsus after and it is telling me that the server still has not reported.

I'm offsite so I'm testing it on the server first.

You can modify the GPO for WSUS to change the reporting cycle I use every 6 hours found that to be the best cycle.

did you change the GPO for WSUS?

have the reporting cycle lowered to every 4 hours or so.

wuauclt /detectnow /reportnow from a command prompt sometimes that will work also

"After I run the Batch file do I have to restart the server? "

No, NOT NECESSARY!!

"wuauclt /detectnow /reportnow from a command prompt sometimes that will work also "

That's in the batch file, NOT NECESSARY either

What do you get from a cmd prompt on any system ???

reg query "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate" /s

I found the fix for my Problem. I installed an update for WSUS 3.0 sp2.

KB2720211

After I installed the update the computers started synching with WSUS.

Actually you should install http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2828185 which is much newer than KB2720211
