There is some information in this forum thread. Both solutions offered require rooting your phone which sounds like a guarantee invaluation and a risk of bricking it.
*invalidation I love autocorrect.

Good news. Did you need to root the phone to get to it?
no
That's even better news. I don't like the idea of hacking through the protection and potentially destroying a phone.

This was difficult!
Was my link no help to you? If you wanted me to look further you could ask. It sounds like you used information from the link I posted to find the solution which was to use a tool to back up the sms mugs.
I received a notice giving me 4 days to object. The question closed in just one day with no acknowledgement of my post. I can't ask a question in community support so having to raise it from here.
Ors-Ankh-Aten, no I did not use the link.
Some communication may have solved your problem faster. You said you were looking for the folder and several days later that you had a solution. If you said you couldn't find it I could have looked further. Or someone else may have joined in to help.
I am sorry for the late communication.
That's ok. Please remember that there are many people willing to help here. If a question looks like it is back with the asker and waiting for them to come back then people will generally leave it alone.
