we have an office home and business edition 2013 license key which was come preinstalled with the new laptop from a vendor. recently we had to reformat the laptop and need to reinstall the office 2013 software. We are unable to download the software again from https://products.office.com/en-us/get-office-oem-download-page because we don't know the vendor microsoft account that was used to previously activate the license. Is there any workaround to download the software without going through the microsoft account login? (which can't be retrieved from the vendor already?)

You can also install the OPK version - preinstalled version.
Microsoft Office Single Image v15.2 Service Pack 1 OPK

The Microsoft Office Single Image v15.2 Service Pack 1 (SP1) OEM Preinstallation Kit (OPK) is a set of tools, documentation, and product files that licensed original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) can use to preload Office 2013 on new computers for distribution to end users.

* If you do not have a Microsoft account (formerly Windows Live ID),  you create one.  That will allow you to download it.

Here is a small video for the process:
How to Pre-Install Office 2013 on new computers via the OEM Office OPK

Please let me know if this works.

Call the Microsoft Store and ask for help. If you have the purchase information / receipt for the computer, they may help you create an account.

If Office was a trial, you may have to purchase a new subscription.
