We are on step 4 of this recommended procedure for migrating Active Directory from Server 2003 to Server 2012 R2. Our question is what is the full command for step 4, "You will want to run the command adprep /forestprep from one of your Server 2003 Domain Controllers"?

it is not necessary to run adprep
when you install the AD directory services role on the 2012 server and run the wizard to make a domain controller, it will prepare the schema for you; is part of step 5 in that list if you skip step 4
