Proxy settings on Safari

Hi,

When a particular user tries to open safari on Mac OSx  she is  getting an error that proxy server cannot be found, even though we don't have  proxy server setup. Proxy server was remove last year. Some how this particular user is remembering the old settings for safari.

On Firefox user is prompted to import the settings from safari, after the settings are imported i can manually change the proxy settings from use proxy to no proxy and internet is working.

Question is how can reset proxy settings on safari of "change proxy" icon is disabled in safari?

You should be able to control this system wide using the System Preferences.
Goto System Prefs> Internet & Wireless) -Network pane>
From within the Network pane, select the interface that is connected to the network. (WiFi or Ethernet). Click Advanced on the lower right. You may need to Click the lock on the lower left and enter an administrator password to change any System Preferences.

From within the Advanced Network pane for your adapter, Select Proxies.

From within the Proxies pane, you can select or deselect the proxy protocol to configure/remove.

If the proxy settings are not found here, then the settings are being pushed to the client from the DHCP server, in which case you will need to change them there.

There are also proxy settings in the Safari preferences themselves, under the Advanced Tab.

We have installed the new casper system which pushes all the proxy settings to all the computers.
