Lync 2010 - force Lync Web App (/?sl=1/ switch)

We use Lync (currently 2010) for our messaging and conferencing.  Our sales employees have run into several occasions where the prospect that they are presenting to have problems opening up the Lync invite due to the fact that the prospect's company uses Lync also.  I.e. when the prospect clicks on the link, it tries to open and direct to their own Lync servers.

The workaround has been to have the prospect copy the hyperlink, paste into I.E. and add the ?sl=1 switch, forcing the use of the Lync Web App which uses our servers.

Management is very unhappy with this solution and wants me to find a way to force the use of the Lync  Web App in all scenarios - i.e. have the link that is generated by the Lync server during the meeting request already have the switch appended.  Is there a way to do this in Lync 2010?

If not, is there a way in Lync 2013 or in Lync Online (i.e. Office 365)?

Thanks

Unfortunately there is no fix for this in Lync 2013, and i had to deal with the same issue with my deployment :(

Options were
- Force Lync web app
- Have external participant sign-out of Lync and click the meeting join url and join as guest
- Setup federation with the other companies

In one of my deployment we ended up setting up federation with other vendor companies which is the easiest and cleanest solution.
