Storefront Client Hostnames within Appcenter

Hi,

We're running XenApp 6.5 with published desktops using Web Interface.

We've got a Netscaler Gateway which provides remote ICA access, however for iPhone, iPad, Mac, Android etc we use StoreFront and the Storefront server is setup with the Web Interface servers as the delivery controllers.

The problem we face is that when clients connect via Storefront, the hostname of their device (E.g Bob's Ipad) shows in Appcenter, as oppose to Windows devices who use Web Interface they get a randomly generated name of WI_<UNIQUE>. Can we get Storefront to do the same thing? We have Appsense installed and one of the conditions for the applying of printers is IF HOSTNAME = wi_* , so obviously that's not going to work with Storefront connections.

I've tried setting the ICAClientHostNameOverride parameter in the web.config file for the Storefront Store but that doesn't seem to work. We're using Storefront 2.1.0.17

Cheers!

This may not be possible with that version.  I've seen references about this "ability" never having been added to StoreFront, but it may be coming back in a future version.

On the flipside, you may be able to tweak your AppSense to deal with it.  I have a friend who is an AppSense Engineer, and I'll ask him about it.   What version of AppSense do you have?
