The side below lists the certification titles like

70-433: TS: Microsoft SQL Server 2008, Database Development

which seems is already retired (July 2013 I read elsewhere). It seems if someone who already has this certification cab take:

70-457: Transition Your MCTS on SQL Server 2008 to MCSA: SQL Server 2012, Part 1
70-458: Transition Your MCTS on SQL Server 2008 to MCSA: SQL Server 2012, Part 2

Question 1: Can one still take 70-433 and then attempt to take 70-457 and or 70-458?

Question 2: Why there is no xx-xxx: TS: Microsoft SQL Server 2012, Database Development to take?

Current path is here(can change tomorrow based on Microsoft's 'we change certificaitons when the wind blows' mentality.)

(Question 1) :  Likely yes, and some employers who are on 2008 would still care that someone has it.

The 70-433 SQL 2008 exam was a very broad exam that covered many aspects of SQL development way beyond T-SQL:  FIlestream, Full-Text Search, Service Broker, DB Mail, PowerShell, Change Tracking / CDC.   They tried to get away from that with the whole 'an exam should resemble one year of experience {sarcasm excluded} with the (Question 2) SQL 2012 exams, so the 70-461 exam was darn near straight T-SQL.  Some parts of the old 2008 exam are in 70-462 and 70-463.
