Can anyone make Windows 8.1 and Google Calendar sync properly in both directions any more?
Windows 8 and Gmail calendar used to work great, then things changed for one of them and it broke. Now I have Windows 8.1 and it worked last year for awhile again doing nothing to attempt to fix it. It hasn't worked in some time on the Windows 8.1 workstation. Error is ....@gmail.com is unavailable

That article is what google told me when the problem started. For a short time it was working again recently, and then nothing. Might have been only a couple of days. I am aware they claim to be able to make it work if I pay for google apps, but looking for a solution that doesn't require that. Currently I would get nothing else from that expense.

Windows 8.1 for all workstations, and Android phones. Most important is the phones. So I may just abandon Windows 8.1 Calendar and start using the Google Calendar on my desktop.

I am using just the MS Calendar in both Android phone and Windows 8.1 systems, and it does work.
