How to migrate vCenter VM to a different datastore without Vmotion

Hello I am running VMware 5.5 essentials currently have just set up a new Data store that I am trying migrate all my VMs over to. So far I was able to move over everything but my V Center server, because I am running Vm Essentials Motion is not available when the VM is powered on and when I shut down Vcenter Migration is not available, is there a way to to migrate vCenter VM to a different datastore without Vmotion or could I just Clone the Vcenter server to the new data store then bring it up?

Thanks

vCenter Server is a management server, turning it off does not affect VMs running!

What you will have to do is one of the following:-

1. Power Down vCenter Server. (remember which host the VM is on!)

2. Connect directly to the ESXi server hosting vCenter Server.

3. Make sure it's Powered OFF.

4. Remove from the Inventory (not delete from disks)

5. Browse to the datastore and cut and paste the folder to the shared datastore.

6. Browse to shared datastore, right click the VMX file, and Add to Inventory.
