Outlook Distribution List Not Syncing To iPhone

Hi I have a client who retrieves her company email on her iphone via active sync. We are in an exchange environment and the client created her own distribution list within her outlook contacts. The distribution list will not sync to the iphone contacts, only the individual contacts will sync. Is it true this is a limitation of active sync or is there a way to sync distribution groups?

For that reason it cant' be done (not natively anyway), it exists as part of her mailbox contacts resource, it's not something the iPhone will sync.

The best option would be to sync that distribution list with the iCloud account for that client.

Thanks, are you saying the client should create the group within her local iphone contacts?

If they really want to, sure, but I believe you should have the option to install the iCloud software to their machine and sync the distribution list straight from there.  Don't quote me on that it's not something I've had to do myself.  It's a solution for your standalone Outlook POP3/IMAP mailbox PC which could work here.
