I don't know what the end-user did to their site, but I need to try and fix it for them. :-/

I logged into the database and changed default theme, stylesheet, and template to all be "twentythirteen" and the site loads differently, but it still won't load the admin panel. Any other suggestions?

When you say "won't load" what exactly happens?  White screen, no text anywhere

Ah, the dreaded White Screen of Death:

So you changed themes but the issue persists.  That usually means a plugin has gone bad...do you have any that affect the login behavior?
