net objects fusion essentials migrate site to new computer

Some 3 years ago I built a small website with NOF essentials 7.5 and published it with apache. I now want to move this site to a new machine running V13.00.0000.5598

I have followed the instructions - opened up NOF 7.5 on the old machine
verify assets
delete unused assets
optimize
save as template

save the folder as MySite.zip to a network drive

Open up NOF Essentials 13 on new machine
New site
from template
point this at the network drive MySite.zip

... and it comes back with "The file could not be opened. It was built with a version incompatible with NetObjects Essentials"

An online search doesn't reveal much

Any Ideas?

If you can't open the NOD file directly, then best practice is to use the old version of NOF to create a template from the web site, and then use that emplate in the new version to create the new site.

NOF Essentials is "community-supported".  In addition to posting here (I don't see a lot of NOF questions on EE), you may also want to post to the NOF support forums:

I have gone through the process (I think correctly) of creating a template - that's the problem. The documentation says that it's supposed to work for all versions of NOF - but in my case it doesn't.

I'll give the forum a go.

Thanks
