Hi,

I have an S4 on the most up to date android os and updates.

This volume warning is really annoying me, I love the phone and android but this thing is driving me mad.
It keeps resetting the volume on me and the warning keeps on popping up when the phone is "screen off" in my pocket.

I have read you have to root the phone to fix this.
If so then so be it.

Can anyone post steps to do this with or without rooting the phone(preferably without).?

Try installing this....
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jakebasile.android.hearingsaver
Otherwise only other suggestion would be to root
If this doesn't work I would head over to the XDA forums to find the root procedure for your phone

This doesn't seem to be working. Can anyone confirm if the volume warning is meant to come up at all ever again once this is installed?

I crawled a couple of forums before I posted it and other users were confirming it was working... it seems they overrode it by setting the volume all the way to max (in that application) when the headphones are plugged in and reported not seeing the warning anymore. Did you try that?

Yes I did that,

I noticed it start up once only one time the phone had just powered on.

I will test it properly in the next few days, it looks like a good solution.
